This Privacy Policy applies to all software, games, and digital products developed and distributed by Quasi Penguin ("we", "us", "our"), including games available on itch.io, GitHub, Google Play, the Apple App Store, and any other distribution platform we may use. Please read this policy carefully. By using our products, you agree to the practices described here.

1. OUR CORE COMMITMENT

Quasi Penguin is built on the belief that software should work for the person using it, not the other way around. We do not build products designed to harvest your personal information. Our games are designed to run offline on your device. We do not require accounts, subscriptions, or registration to play our games. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes. We never have, and we do not intend to.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

For offline and Progressive Web App (PWA) games hosted on GitHub: We collect no information whatsoever. These games run entirely within your browser. Any data generated during play (scores, progress, settings) is stored locally in your browser's storage and is never transmitted to any server. You manage that data through your own browser settings. We have no access to it.

For games distributed through third-party platforms (itch.io, Google Play, Apple App Store, Steam): Those platforms have their own privacy policies and data practices that apply independently of ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any platform through which you access our games. Quasi Penguin does not receive personal data from those platforms about individual users unless you contact us directly.

For this website (quasipenguin.patternbeneath.tech): This site is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub Pages may collect limited technical data (such as IP addresses) as described in GitHub's privacy documentation. We do not use any analytics, tracking pixels, cookies, or advertising scripts on this website.

If you embed or watch YouTube videos on this site: YouTube is operated by Google and has its own data collection practices. We use standard YouTube embeds where applicable. You may wish to review Google's Privacy Policy for information on how YouTube handles data.

3. INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE VOLUNTARILY

If you contact us by email or phone, we receive the information you share (your name, email address, message content, or phone number). We use that information solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to mailing lists, share your contact information, or retain it beyond the time needed to address your request.

4. COOKIES

This website does not set any cookies. Cookies may be set by YouTube if you interact with embedded video players, and by GitHub Pages infrastructure. Our games themselves do not use cookies. Browser-local storage used by our PWA games (for saving progress) is not a cookie and is accessible only to your own browser.

5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our products are designed to be appropriate for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the minimum digital consent age applicable in your jurisdiction). Because we do not collect personal information from any users, this extends equally to children. If you believe your child has somehow transmitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

6. DATA SECURITY

Because we do not collect or store personal data on our own servers, there is no personal data at our end that could be breached. Data stored locally in your browser is subject to your own device's security, which you control. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date.

7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES REFERENCED FROM THIS SITE

This website links to third-party platforms including YouTube, itch.io, GitHub, Patreon, and others. Following a link to any external service takes you outside of Quasi Penguin's control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party platform. Please review the privacy policies of any service you use independently.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Because we do not collect or retain personal data, there is generally no personal data in our possession for you to access, correct, or delete. If you have contacted us and wish for us to delete your contact information from our email records, you may request this at any time by emailing support@patternbeneath.tech and we will comply promptly.
